As part of this Alaska wildlife holiday we also include a fly-in bear viewing tour from Juneau to Pack Creek; which annually hosts one of the largest concentrations of Grizzly Bears in the region; who come to feast on the huge numbers of returning salmon.

Best time to visit - JUL

Safari Style: BESPOKE WILDLIFE

Day 1

Best places to stay in Juneau Silverbow B&B
Arrive into Juneau airport and take a taxi to your B&B
Although this tour starts in Juneau, many of our clients fly in from either Seattle, or Anchorage and we can easily book hotels in these two cities and create a bespoke itinerary. On arriving in Juneau you will pay around $25 to take a taxi 30 minutes into the heart of Juneau's colourful downtown, where you will find the charming and highly rated Silverbow B&B.

Accommodation : Silverbow B&B

Days 2&3

Best places to see Humpbacks and Orcas in Alaska Juneau with Jayleen
Half-day whale watching tour out of Auke Bay
At 07:30 you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Auke Bay for a private custom boat safari which will last 3 hours on the water. Jayleen's boat carries a maximum of 6 passengers and the focus in July will be looking for Humpback Whales. If we are incredibly lucky, we may seem them breeching and bubble netting. We also may encounter Orcas and Sealions. On returning to Auke Bay, you will be driven back to your B&B. Rest of the day free to explore Juneau and visit local attractions.

Accommodation : Silverbow B&B

Day 4

Best fly in bear viewing near Juneau
Full day fly-in bear viewing tour at Pack Creek
After breakfast take a taxi back to Juneau Airport to check-in for your full day bear viewing tour with Pack Creek Bear Tours departs 13:00 (aim to arrive 45 minutes before your departure) and returns to Juneau at 19:30. You will spend five-six hours exploring a half mile of estuarine bear habitat, with an optional one mile interpretive hike on a moderate trail through pristine old growth forest to an observation tower above the creek. There is a maximum of 5 participants per tour and it will be guided by an Alaskan naturalist who specialises in bear behaviour in temperate rainforest habitat.

Accommodation : Silverbow B&B

Day 5

Best place to see breaching whales in Alaska
Final morning whale boat safari then fly to Anchorage
Because this is your third whale watching tour with Jayleen you may be able to change direction a little and focus on some species you may not have seen in previous tour; although that will depend on the other clients. On returning to your accommodation you will take a taxi to Juneau airport to connect with your flight to Anchorage. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the highly rated Arctic Fox B&B in downtown Anchorage for your overnight accommodation.

Accommodation : Arctic Fox B&B

Day 6

Best wildlife tours to do in Anchorage
Full day free in Anchorage for your own activities
Free day for your own activities in Anchorage. We recommend renting a bicycle and cycling the 10 mile Tony Knowles Coastal Trail from downtown Anchorage from which offers the possibility to see Beluga Whales in Cook Inlet if the tide is in, and encounter moose and other wildlife along the trail

Accommodation : Arctic Fox B&B

Day 7

Take a taxi to the airport to connect with your onward flight
