Tiger Safari in Corbett National Park; Wildlife Trails first visited Corbett way back in 1999 and have been lucky enough to return there 3 more times in the last 13 years; including a spectacular family trip in 2011, when Allan and Kirsty and their two young daughters stayed inside the park at Sarpduli, in their own private forest bungalow. Even though the accommodation at both Dhikala and Sarpduli is quite basic, to visit Corbett and only stay in lodges on the outside of the park is like visiting Ranthambhore without a safari by the lakes - it is just not the same. In addition, the ‘real’ elephant safaris from Dhikala are like no other elephant safari in India. To head out early morning with a Mahout in harmony with his charge and cross the Ramnaga River, as a herd of 20-30 Wild Elephant make the same crossing, is priceless. To then witness a tiger charge a sambhar out from the long grass onto the dry river bed is what makes Corbett a legend amongst India’s tiger sanctuaries.
Itinerary

Arrive in Delhi and take the day train to Corbett. Overnight at Tiger Camp.

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the Bijirani range.

Morning game drive through the park to a forest bungalow in Dhikala. Afternoon jeep safari.

Early morning elephant safari followed by afternoon jeep safari.

Morning jeep safari and then drive out of the park on an afternoon safari to Tiger Camp.

Train to Delhi and overnight at a mid-range hotel or guesthouse.

Private transfer to Delhi international airport and connect with your flight home.
Meals
Accommodation: a private tour throughout; good quality tried and tested lodges, with upgrade options on request. All meals included at the Wildlife Lodges. Car transfers can be substituted for the trains to and from Corbett, but beware, the traffic out of Delhi is horrendous (additional cost for this traffic jam!)
