Overview

Sri Lanka wildlife holiday showcasing the full diversity of this exotic, wildlife rich island. Visiting in prime months (dry season) for mammal viewing in north and eastern regions (Yala!), but with welcome low season costs at some of the best lodges and more peaceful parks after the mainstream package season is over.

From the dense forests of Sinharaja with rare endemics such as the Blue Magpie, to Uda Walawe and its large herds of wild elephant. You then climb up spectacular mountain roads to the stunning Peak Wilderness Range; this is prime tea growing country, before continuing to the frost bitten, wind swept Horton Plains for incredible views (we saw Leopard scat here!). With a series of impressive switch backs, you descend to the warmth of Yala National Park, with its high density of Leopards and stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Finally, you will take the picturesque coast road back to Colombo, via the bird rich lagoons of Bundala National Park, and the UNESCO site of Galle town, which brings you to the end of your Sri Lanka wildlife holiday.
