India wildlife tour with ‘glamping’ stays at Ranthambhore and Kanha
10 days from £2750*
Luxury bespoke India tiger safari
On this tailor-made Indian wildlife tour, spend time in two of the most diverse National Parks in terms of wildlife species, history, vegetation types and landscape; Ranthambhore in the arid state of Rajasthan and Kanha in central Madhya Pradesh (add in Kaziranga or Corbett, and maybe Gir, and you really have it all). Both attract a greater variety of birdlife, both resident and migratory, and feature larger mixed herds of deer and antelope species under the watchful gaze of troups of monkeys. Ranthambhore generalyl provides the best chance to see tigers, lesser cats, sloth bears and smaller mammals but only Kanha is going to offer Barasingha (swamp deer) with Gaur (Indian bison) and also a good chance for dhole (wild dog).
What makes this India wildlife tour special is the chance to enjoy the thrill of camping close to the buffer zone, but without having to 'rough it' at all! Sher Bagh is the original (and still arguably the best) boutique Indian wilderness lodge; which opened in 2002 and intrinsically linked to notable figures in the tiger conservation story. To retain the same attention to detail the camp has remained intimate with still just 12 en suite stylish tents, but with the additon of a small outdoor swimming pool to cool off after a hot afternoon tiger safari. Sher Garh lies on the quieter Mukki side of Kanha, and with just six tents has operated on environmentally sympathetic principles since 2004, while the tents have been upgraded over time the care and consideration paid to the local environment by your friendly hosts, Katie and Jehan, has not been compromised. An exciting Indian tiger safari with a difference on this luxury Indian wildlife tour.
