Bespoke tiger safari in Ranthambhore national park with Chambal river tour
11 days from £1440*
India wildlife tour visiting Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary; with Bharatpur and Chambal extension
A bespoke tiger safari with the chance to see a stunning diversity of wildlife without the long travel involved with some Indian wildlife tours. Ranthambhore still punches above its weight in terms of the quality of tiger sightings, set to the backdrop of ancient forts and overgrown temples. It is also has amazing locations for birds; paticularly from November to February, when winter migrants swell the population of resident birds. Wildlife Trails has been visiting Ranthambhore since 1997 and uses local guides who have an intimate connection with both the resident wildlife and tribal villagers - you will see a different side of this unique landscape. From Ranthambhore you head to the world famous Bharatpur (Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary); a park that was on its knees a few years ago, due to mismanagement of water resources and small minded local politics. It is only just recovering from that difficult period, but can still produce a good number of birds (and reptiles!) if you visit during winter. World Responsible Tourism Award winning (Silver award for wildlife conservation) Chambal Safari Lodge is a must for all clients with an interest in Gangetic Dolphins and unique river birds such as Indian Skimmers, never mind the chance to see both gharial (fish eating crocodile) and marsh muggers; you will also receive the warmest hospitality of your entire stay in India. A simple extension to view the Taj Mahal in Agra is easily included on this bespoke Indian wildlife tour.
