Overview

A nature holiday in Canada with tremendous diversity and an unrushed itinerary, which allows you to truely appreciate the amazing wildlife which can be accessed from Vancouver Island. Starting with a scenic car ferry service betwen Vancouver and Nanaimo - your gateway to Vancouver Island - you will soon be heading of on your first bear viewing tour of Vancouver Island; as you head across the strait to one of the wildlife rich inlets which cut deep into the western coast of British Colombia. 

Itinerary

This is a Private Tour

  1. Day 1

    Arrive at Vancouver Airport and take the free airport shuttle to the Pacific Gateway Hotel

  2. Day 2

    Pick up your hire car and take the ferry across to Nanaimo. Drive 4 hours north to Port McNeil and overnight at a wilderness lodge

  3. Day 3

    Enjoy your first 3 hour whale watching tour looking out for Orcas, Humpback Whales, Bald Eagles and Dolphins

  4. Day 4

    Full day small boat bear viewing tour to Knight Inlet looking out for grizzly bears and other local wildlife

  5. Day 5

    Second morning whale watching tour before driving 2 hours south to Campbell River. Overnight at Painters Lodge

  6. Day 6

    Full day grizzly bear tour from Campbell River to Bute inlet as we explore multiple locations for bears feeding on salmon

  7. Day 7

    Morning zodiac marine wildlife tour looking for black bears, orcas, dolphins and harbour porpoises.

  8. Day 8

    Beautiful drive from Campbell River to Tofino across the spine of Vancouver Island, stopping off at points of interest. Overnight in a ocean facing condo.

  9. Day 9

    Half-day small boat whale watching tour looking for gray whales and humpback whales.

  10. Day 10

    Half-day black bear tour from Tofino, looking for black bears feeding on the beaches

  11. Day 11

    Full day for your own activities so you can explore this vibrant town; walk a section of the Pacific Trail or book additional wildlife activities

  12. Day 12

    Long but scenic drive back to Nanaimo where you will take the return ferry to Vancouver. Drop off your car at the airport and take a taxi to the Sandman Suites

  13. Day 13

    Full day free to enjoy one of the most beautiful coastal cities in the world. Your hotel is located next to the beautiful Stanley Park (hotel upgrades available)

  14. Day 14

    When appropriate take a taxi back to the airport and connect with your international flight home. End of your Canada wildlife holiday with Wildlife Trails

Cost £2230 per person based on two people sharing and not including international flights
