Polar bear tour to the High Arctic in Alaska

If you want a very special polar bear tour that takes you into a vast Arctic wilderness area and where you will stay in a small Inupiat community; enjoying excellent hospitality and daily boat safaris looking for polar bears. The small flat bottomed boat will allow us much betetr access to the polar bears than a land vehicle and it can be anchored in relatively calm inlet waters to aid photographer and limit any sea sickness suffered by travellers. On this polar bear tour you can expect to see multiple bears, as well as icebergs (earlier in the season) and northern lights if the weather is suitable.


This is a Small Group Tour

  1. Day 1

    Polar bear tour starts with a flight to Fairbanks in Alaska and overnight at an airport hotel

  2. Day 2

    Fly north to a small Inupiat community located in the Arctic wildlife refuge

  3. Day 3-6

    Four days of small boat safaris (maximum of 6 people) looking for polar bears. Great photographic opportunites in different habitats along the coast.

  4. Day 7

    Fly back to Fairbanks and overnight at the same airprot hotel

  5. Day 8

    Connect with your flight home to bring your Polar Bear tour in Alaska to an end.


Polar bear tours run from September 1 - October 15 2015 and are conducted in a boat with a maximum of 6 clients.

Accommodation in Fairbanks is a mid-range airport hotel and in the Arctic refuge is a simple local Inn with ensuite bathrooms and all 3 meals include.
